Riverbank, Plaza Hotel
Overlooking the River Thames, this high-end hotel 1.4 miles of Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace required structural engineering specialist design consisting of:
Multiple bracket checks for bending moments, shear, tension and deflection (yielding plate thickness)
Bolts design check for tension and shear (hollo-bolt design to closed sections & black bolts design to open sections)
Steel column design for compression and bending moments
Baseplate design checks
Open sections torsion check (yielding transverse web stiffeners)


New Build, Ongar
The project, located in Ongar Town Centre, involved the construction of a new build two storey house including part basement.
We provided full schematic layouts and a complete package for both construction purposes and approval by the local building authority


The proposal located 150 yards from Cripsey Brook, seeks to provide a residential development, offering exceptional design to respond to the established local environment and adjacent listed building.
The roof structure to be vaulted in several locations also required a very bespoke design and detailing.
The design includes a projection of the first floor façade.
The three storey nature of the building required careful detailing because of the different materials incorporated into the design, especially the wall panel junctions of the timber frame at first floor level, to guard against the impact of timber shrinkage.

Burrows Court
Our team was employed by James Cubitt Partners to act as the structural engineers on this project, providing concrete detailing design and structural inspections for the Refurbishment of the 20-storey high-rise ex-council authority tower block.
Containing 130 flats, 54 with one bedroom and 76 with two bedrooms.
The building was constructed using the Wimpey ‘No fines’ system, which does not provide adequate levels of thermal insulation.
A new external insulated render system and efficient replacement windows were proposed to address this issue, whilst simultaneously providing a more attractive external appearance.
Amongst other facilities, the project introduced a concierge unit to oversee an extended ground floor lobby




Containing 130 flats (54 one bedroom and 76 two bedroom) the block needed full refurbishment and upgrade to create new social housing and to allow the site to comply with contemporary energy and living standards.
